Elis Ampicillin And Cloxacillin Capsules 250 mg

DESCRIPTION:
 A combination of Ampicillin & Cloxacillin is clinically effective against a wide range of gram positive and gram-negative organisms including penicillinase producing bacteria.
 
 INDICATIONS:
 Respiratory, Urinary, skin, soft tissue, bone & joint infections. EMT, Meningitis, Genito-urinary infections, Surgical & Gynaecological operative prophylaxis
 
 DOSAGE:
 ADULTS: 250mg (ampicillin) 250mg. (Cloxacilltn} 4-6 hrly,
 CHILDRENS: Upto 2 yrs. quarter of adult dose. 2-10 yrs: Half of adult dose.
 
 ONSET OF EFFECT:30-60 mins.
 
 DURATION OF ACTION: upto 6 hours.
 
 CONTRAINDICATION: Hypersensltivity to Penicillin.

 SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: Periodic assessment of renal, hepatic functions
 
 DRUG INTERACTION;
 Oral contraceptives: Efficacy reduced, may cause breakthrough, bleeding or pregnancy
 Probenecid: Increases blood levels.
 Erythromycin & Tetracyclines: reduce efficacy.
